Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is organising the second in-person meeting of G20 Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) in Hyderabad from April 17-19. Experts from various fields deliberated on high-speed mobile broadband and its impact on society, digital inclusion and sustainable green digital infrastructure- challenges and opportunities. First meeting of G20 DEWG was held in February setting the tone for productive and meaningful deliberations in the future. Three DEWG priority areas have been identified under India's G20 Presidency - Digital Public Infrastructure, Cybersecurity in the Digital Economy and Digital Skilling. In recent years, digital technologies have been the driving force of greater productivity, efficiency, and innovation in the economy. Digital economy has also created a strong demand for a digitally proficient workforce.
